A pleasant working environment is key to getting the most out of employees, according to a survey of over 100 London office staff.
The survey lists the most important factors contributing to a pleasant working environment as: friendly co-workers, good lighting, comfortable desk chair and flexible working conditions. Effects of the working environment filter through into other business areas, impacting the ability to win new clients (40%), client / customer relations (36%), staff morale (57%) and staff retention (43%).
Aside from these there are many other criteria that make up a good working environment and are not limited to;
Reception
Canteen and shower in the building/office
Decor
External noise
Internal acoustics
Views
Parking
The managers and businesses that create a positive work environment will be the winners of tomorrow’s workplace.
